Job Responsibilities

As a Contracting Electrician, you will:

Perform various electrical services, including but not limited to:
- Installation of under-cabinet and recessed lighting
- Ceiling fan and light fixture installation
- Electrical upgrades such as backup generators, surge protectors, and new electrical panels
- Repair and installation of switches, outlets, and dimmers
- Installation of smoke detectors, motion detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors
- Adding additional outlets or upgrading to three-prong outlets
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues like flickering lights, sparking appliances, or tripped breakers
- Updating old wiring in residential and commercial buildings
- Installation and maintenance of outdoor and landscape lighting
- Hardwiring appliances such as ovens, dryers, and cooktops
- Installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
- Data and communication wiring for internet, telephone, and security systems
- Installing or upgrading electrical panels and subpanels
- Repairing or replacing faulty breakers and fuses
- Installing timers and smart home electrical systems
- Performing whole-home surge protection upgrades
- Installing or replacing GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas
Diagnose and resolve both emergent and non-emergent electrical issues promptly and professionally.
Maintain clear and open communication with customers to explain project details and updates.
Collaborate with the Handyman Connection team to ensure seamless project completion and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

A valid Electrical Contractor License from the Electrical Contractor Registration Agency (ECRA).
Compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and local electrical regulations.
A minimum of 3 years of residential and commercial electrical experience.
Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Your own tools and reliable transportation.
Valid WSIB coverage or equivalent insurance.
The ability to provide a clear criminal background check.
